varianbetweenstarsI'm currently playing Salt & Sanctuary which is a 2-D game that's supposed to be a Souls-like game. I've never played Dark Souls, because my laptop won't play it, and the time I tried modding it I messed it up. The other "souls-like" game I've played was Hollow Knight, which was fun, but the story left me feeling depressed.
It's actually how bleak the stories are, on top of how difficult the games are, that is making me think that Souls-like games aren't for me. I play games to get away from feeling hopeless, so I might put Salt & Sanctuary down and go back to No Man's Sky for a while.
